In January 2024, Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan were spotted out together once again. The very next month, as reported by People Magazine, they 'soft-launched' their relationship at the Grammys afterparty hosted by W Magazine.
The same month, on February 9, Carpenter and Keoghan were spotted kissing after their dinner date. Later, on March 10, at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, they made their red carpet debut as a couple. In May, the duo went on to attend the Met Gala and posed together on the stairs, despite not walking the red carpet together.

People Magazine reported that on May 11, 2024, Keoghan threw Carpenter a party on her 25th Birthday. Carpenter's birthday cake went viral for incorporating the popular DiCaprio meme referring to the actor's dating life, the cake read, "Nooo don't turn 25 [you're] so sexy aha."
In December 2024, almost a year after they went public with their relationship, a source shared with People Magazine that Sabrina Carpenter and Keoghan decided to take a break. The insider shared with POEPLE that,
"They are both young and career-focused, so they've decided to take a break."
During their relationship, both Keoghan and Carpenter talked highly of each other's craft and offered support. Keoghan even co-starred in Sabrina's music video for 'Please Please Please.'
Post-breakup, Keoghan deactivated his Instagram and shared in a statement that he deactivated his account due to the hate and harassment he received and asked people to be respectful.
