Instead, they let him out without contacting any of us."According to the Freaks and Geeks star, Jacob Harris contacted the crisis team after Tylor Chase was found in Riverside. But as the former actor was "smoking meth during the evaluation with no shoes or jacket in the freezing cold," the team refused to take him in.Shaun Weiss said that, while he's uncertain on how to proceed given the situation, he has been in contact with executive members of the Screen Actors Guild. He also hopes for Tylor Chase to receive assistance from a political representative and the county of Riverside.Shaun Weiss on the support he received amid his recovery from substance addiction: "I didn't want to let anybody down"Meanwhile, Shaun Weiss himself has struggled with addiction and homelessness. In 2018, the Mighty Duck star entered rehab following a series of incarcerations. According to him, his mug shot going public made it "a little easier" to seek help."Because first of all, it made me have to surrender earlier than I might have. Because when you have, you know, stories about you on the news and the narrative really isn't correct, there was nothing I could do about it from a jail cell. So I had to decide to surrender early on which ended up being a major benefit in the 12-step program."Celebrity Sightings In Studio City - February 16, 2024 - Source: GettyShaun Weiss also credited the "tremendous amount of support from people" for his recovery."That really made a difference to me. I didn't know that these movies I was in were meaningful to people. I got so many letters from people telling me that they didn't wanna go to school because they were overweight and they felt a certain way. But after seeing Heavyweights, that movie alone just made them feel okay about being heavy."The actor continued:"And so when I started getting this kind of support from people, and I started doing better, it became a thing where I didn't want to let anybody down."
