Justin Baldoni is keeping his head up despite a courtroom storm with Blake Lively, his attorney says, as the actor eyes a path to resolution amid one of Hollywood's messiest legal battles.

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, the actor's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, had a quick chat with TMZ, in which he revealed how the actor is holding up.

"Justin's doing well as he can, and he's hopeful and looks forward to a positive resolution in the case."

When asked what's next for Justin Baldoni and what the team is expecting next, the attorney went on:

"We expect to continue to, you know, move forward with the case, and the judge made some rulings today that he'll make more public. And I'm sure you guys [TMZ] will be first to capture, because you always are."

The reporter then asked about Justin Baldoni's wife and family. Brian Freedman looked visibly solemn as he answered:

"They're obviously been through a lot. It's been a very, very difficult year. And, you know, he's holding up as well as one can. We're hopeful that when he gets the right result here, slowly he'll be back to the great man that he was."

Justin Baldoni's lawyer continued:

"I think he is a wonderful person and really meaningful. It's an unfortunate situation, and it'll be good to get him vindication."

Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively's trial rescheduled

Meanwhile, in the latest development in the legal feud between the It Ends With Us co-stars, the civil trial in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has pushed back Blake Lively's allegations against Justin Baldoni.

Originally, the trial was scheduled to commence on March 9, 2026, but it was postponed until May 18.

According to Judge Lewis J. Liman, in a post-discovery hearing on Tuesday:

"As important as this case is … criminal trials take precedent."

The next hearing will take place on Jan. 22, 2026.

In December 2024, months after It Ends With Us' premiere, Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni and his production firm, Wayfarer Studios, for sexual harassment and plotting to "destroy her reputation."

The actress filed an 80-page complaint with the California Civil Rights Department, citing "hostile work environment." It says:

"Mr. Baldoni and his Wayfarer associates embarked on a sophisticated press and digital plan in retaliation for Ms. Lively exercising her legally-protected right to speak up about their misconduct on the set, with the additional objective of intimidating her and anyone else from revealing in public what actually occurred."

The actress also sought $160 million for damages.

Immediately, Brian Freedman branded the allegations as "completely false." Justin Baldoni also filed a $400 million countersuit, accusing Lively of defamation and extortion. The suit has since been dismissed.

Bryan Freedman's latest statement regarding the actor echoed his earlier remarks. Back in June, the attorney shared with TMZ:

"He knows who he is. He knows what he's done; he knows what he hasn't done. And he wants the truth to come out, and he wants to do that in the appropriate way. He's waiting for his day in court, where he can speak out to tell the truth."
