As per TMZ, Kelsey Bateman passed away unexpectedly, her family told TMZ in an exclusive article published on August 31. She was 39. The details of her death remain undisclosed as of writing.

Bateman appeared on the third and final season of Bret Michaels’ VH1 dating reality series, Rock of Love, in 2009. It was won by Penthouse Pet, Taya Parker.

According to her LinkedIn profile, where she used the name Kelsey Passey, Kelsey Bateman had been a senior sales lead at Vox Nutrition Inc. since 2016, overseeing day-to-day account management while managing a team of junior sales representatives.

Over the years, she celebrated her work anniversaries and thanked her boss, Lindsey Gray Estes, for her job via Facebook. Estes is the owner and administrator of Vox Nutrition Inc.

Kelsey Bateman was a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived in Draper, Utah. Her middle name is Lee. In 2009, when she was 21, she starred in the final season of Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels, and lived on tour buses with the rocker alongside 22 other contestants. They all tried to win Michael's affection and become his girlfriend.

However, in the seventh episode, she was eliminated after getting drunk with fellow contestants, Farrah Sinclair and Ashley Klarich. At the time, Kelsey Bateman said in the confessional clip:

“I ended up lying on a speed bump, bawling my eyes out, but you know what? I'm here and I'm ready for whatever Brett has to say to me. But I mean, hey, I can't be the only girl that's got drunk and laid on a speed bump. Let's be honest.”

In response, the Poison band frontman told Kelsey that she wouldn’t be able to handle the lifestyle of being with him on tours and living in tour buses.

“I think you're awesome and a beautiful girl, and I said sometimes I have to make decisions for people, and my decision for you is that I'm going to let your tour end here,” Bret said back then.

Kelsey Bateman later admitted that she was “emotional” and a “mess.” She also shared she was going back to Utah and would remain “single” for a while, and never again date a 44-year-old rock star.

Bateman went on to join C7 Data Centers in December 2012, where she served as executive administrator to the company’s CEO until October 2015.

In February 2016, she joined Vox Nutrition Inc., a wellness and fitness service based in West Jordan, Utah. They sold private-label supplements such as capsules, tablets, gummies, tinctures, and skincare products.

As for Bret Michaels, 62, he has been the lead singer of the hard rock and glam metal band Poison since the mid-1980s. He appeared on Rock of Love between 2007 and 2009 and on Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It in 2010.

On August 8, 2025, Bret Michaels shared his 12th wedding anniversary with Kristi Lynn Gibson. They first met in 1994 and dated on and off for several years. They are parents to daughters, Raine, 25, and Jorja, 20, according to the Daily Mail.
