Spanish fashion designer Miguel Adrover shared his thoughts about why he refrained from working with singer Rosalia Vila Tobella. A few days ago, he shared a carousel on his Instagram, featuring email screenshots of conversations between him and Yvonne, who appears to be an associate of the singer.
Yvonne sent an email to Miguel Adrover to talk about making a special outfit for the singer. They didn’t have exact dates yet, but it seemed like they would probably need the outfit around September or October. In the next screenshot, Adrover shared his reply, seemingly from his associate, to Yvonne, where he wrote:
“Hi Yvonne, everything fine here, I hope you too. I'm sorry but Miguel doesn't work with any artist who doesn't publicly support Palestina.”
In the caption of the Instagram post, Miguel Adrover stated that staying quiet was a complicit act, agreeing with something wrong, especially when someone has a big voice that many people listen to. He believes that people with that kind of power should speak up against the killing of innocent people. He also wrote:
“Rosalia, this is nothing personal. I admire you for all your talent and for everything you've achieved. And I think you are much more than those artists who only dedicate themselves to show business and entertainment.”
According to Channel 12, as per a report by JNS, in 2023, Rosalia shared a now-deleted Instagram post where she wrote that several people, including children, had to leave the northern part of Gaza. She noted that necessities were scarce, adding that the situation was unfortunate.
A look at Rosalia’s philanthropic work from yesteryears
In 2024, Rosalia became the benefactor of a scholarship at her alma mater, the Catalonia College of Music. According to Billboard, the amount was around $16,000 and would go on to help a student. The scholarship would cover the tuition fee and other expenses, including daily expenses. Per an official statement from the university:
“With this financial support, the aim is to ensure that the student can focus as much as possible on their studies, developing their full artistic potential in an environment of stability and support.”
In 2020, the songstress became the ambassador of M.A.C VIVA GLAM. According to Hola!, The motto behind the lipstick is not only to add a beauty element but also to support the queer community and those affected by AIDS. Sharing her excitement, Rosalia said:
“It’s an honor to be the face of VIVA GLAM 26 and to champion, a cause that is inclusive, supports individuality and gives back 100%.”
MAC Cosmetics’ makeup director, Baltasar Gonzalez Pinel, said that Rosalia's strong personality, energy, and power perfectly matched a bright red color. He explained that her music, which started with flamenco, mixed different styles and feelings.
In other news, Rosalia sang at an online concert called “Se Agradece” to help raise money for making a COVID-19 vaccine. She also helped a project called “Música Solidària del Baix Llobregat,” which gave support to a group in Cornellà that supported people affected by disease.
