The singer and songwriter broke the news on Instagram by sharing photographs from the wedding on October 07, 2025.

Sara Bareilles and Joe Tippett met in August 2015 at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they were working on the musical adaptation of Adrienne Shelly's 2007 film Waitress, for which Bareilles composed the score. The couple announced their engagement in January 2023.
Tippett opened up about the engagement to People Magazine in an interview on June 12, 2023.
"We had been talking about it for quite some time, so it wasn't a surprise or anything. But we were in Mexico City, and she was having a bad day." Tippett said in the interview.
