Charlie Puth is taking his complaints sky-high — literally. The pop star called out Elon Musk on X/Twitter over the deafening sonic booms shaking his Santa Barbara home, claiming one early-morning launch even rattled his pregnant wife, Brooke Sansone.

On the social media platform, Charlie Puth blasted the SpaceX founder, writing:

"Hi @elonmusk …these sonic booms have gotten progressively louder since they started launching the rockets in Santa Barbara. This one at 3am today felt like 150-160 dB, violently shook our whole house, and really frightened my pregnant wife. I hope they do not get louder :/."

The Light Switch crooner's post, as of writing, has now amassed over 2 million views. Fans quickly flocked to his post, reacting to his complaint. One comment even trolled the musician with what appeared to be an AI-generated image of a music player on a phone screen, featuring Charlie Puth's song Sonic Boom, with the lyrics that go:

"Sonic Booms, they've gotten louder / it's shaking my life, shaking my wife"

The X user wrote in their caption:

"I've been listening to this for years as my comfort song and you're telling me it's not a metaphor? It's literally about elon and his rockets. Seriously charlie"

(Note: Puth doesn't have a song called Sonic Boom.)

Other replies under Charlie Puth's tweet range from suggestions to move to soundproofing his house to other random advice.

"Sonic booms are basically nature's reminder that your neighbor is shipping to orbit faster than you ship to prod," an online user said.
"Space is cool, but getting jolted awake at 3am is not. There has to be a middle ground that respects residents," one wrote.
"We live about an hour away from the one here in McGregor, Texas and our house windows rattle when the weather is right. Scares us sometimes. They have a curfew they are allowed to test the rockets till but always seems to be 3 minutes before that cerfew," another empathized.
"Telling Elon what's what, on behalf of his pregnant wife! I love it," a fan praised.
"Don’t live near a spaceforce base then," another tweeted.
"Use the noise for a song!" one suggested.

Charlie Puth to sing the national anthem at 2026 Super Bowl pre-game activities

Charlie Puth's internet complaint comes over a week after he responded to the criticism he received after he was confirmed to sing the national anthem at the 2026 Super Bowl LX.

On X, British content creator Link Lauren was among the first ones to express his dismay over the announcement, saying:

"Man we've fallen from when Whitney Houston sang at the Super Bowl. Charlie Puth? He's not gonna give us vocals I'm afraid."

Charlie Puth, who has multi-platinum certifications in his repertoire, swiftly and directly responded to the criticism.

"I'll never claim to be as good of a singer as Whitney Houston ever was. But I assure you we're putting a really special arrangement together—in D major. It'll be one of my best vocal performances."

Joining Puth in the pregame activities are Brandi Carlile and Coco Jones.

The Super Bowl LX will commence on Feb. 8, 2026.
