Actress Keri Russell, best known for her role in The Diplomat, responded to comments Taylor Swift made about her on the singer’s MySpace profile. Russell was a guest on the recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Fallon showed Swift’s 2008 bio on her MySpace page. Besides her thoughts in her bio, Swift dedicated a sentence to Russell, writing:

“I think Keri Russell is the coolest celebrity ever.”

Fallon shared another post on Taylor Swift’s MySpace account, dated January 14, 2008, in which the singer seemingly praised the actress, writing:

“So.. Ben (my banjo player), Grant (my guitar player), and I all got to meet Keri Russell the other night. We were playing at the same corporate party she was at. Ok, and I've always been obsessed with her because she rocks the curly hair, and was AMAZING in The Waitress and Felicity. When we met her, she was SO incredibly cool.”

Taylor Swift said that when she and her friends met Keri Russell, Keri was friendly and funny. Before the trip, one of her friends’ wives had jokingly asked him to find out how Keri did her hair. When he mentioned it to Keri, she kindly wrote down all the details. Taylor admired how Keri took the time to do that, even though many people wanted to talk to her, and said she loved how humble and kind Keri Russell was.

How did Keri Russell react to Taylor Swift’s 2008 post?

After Jimmy Fallon finished reading the blog post, Keri Russell praised it, saying it was a good legend. When asked if she remembered the story and meeting Taylor Swift, the actress said:

“I do remember meeting her. And I remember meeting her mom, who was so lovely. And she was playing a little bit more country stuff back then. I remember thinking, ‘Oh, God, I hope something great happens to her. I hope she makes it.’ I think she did.”

In her MySpace bio, Taylor Swift wrote:

“I'm an 18-year-old voting member of society. I also write songs and sing them in different cities every night. Class of 2008. In my spare time, I like to drive past my ex boyfriends' houses and conduct random baking experiments in my kitchen. I really love people who like my music. They're 1 on my favorite things list. I'm not a big deal. At all.”

She added:

“I love people who are nice to me, I've never been one to say things like "All you people think you know me, well you don't". I'm not that complicated. My complications come out in my songs.”

Taylor Swift said that to be her friend, someone needed to like her. Her middle name was Alison, and she was tall, like the kind of person who might block someone’s view at a concert. She liked wearing sundresses with cowboy boots and admitted she cried for days when a character named Denny from Grey’s Anatomy died.

She said she had wonderful friends and didn’t feel like she always needed a boyfriend, believing that love would come when someone wasn’t searching for it.
