Sports executive Robert Michael Myers, also known as Bob Myers, has switched jobs recently. According to The US Sun, Myers joined ESPN in 2023 as an analyst, but he exited the sports media company and joined hands with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. He is now reported to be the new sports president at the company owned by investors Josh Harris and David Blitzer.

According to On Pattison, his new role will require him to work from California. He will work on improving sports operations and also develop newer strategies.

Bob Myers previously worked as the general manager of the Golden State Warriors. Before that, he was a sports agent for over ten years. He stopped working with the Warriors in 2023, the same year he joined ESPN.

However, during his time with the Warriors, he reached the heights of becoming the President and GM. He was also awarded the NBA Executive of the Year award twice: first in 2015 and again in 2017.

His new company shared a statement about onboarding Myers. They said that their aim had always been to bring in and keep the most talented leaders, and that adding Bob Myers made their team stronger and more energetic.

They shared that his success in building winning teams would fit well with their current leaders and help the company make the most of new opportunities. They also said they were happy that Bob was continuing his successful career with them.

Bob Myers’ statement about joining HBSE

Bob Myers also released a statement about joining hands with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. He thanked the people he worked with at ESPN for their support, which helped him move ahead into the next chapter of his life. He said:

“I have been fortunate to know Josh and David for a long time, and I’ve always greatly admired them and respected how they’ve built such an impressive global sports portfolio. This role was intriguing because it provides the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s most talented leaders and executives across the world’s biggest sports leagues.”

His statement continued:

“By leveraging HBSE’s global presence in sports, we can create competitive advantages for our athletes and teams that enhance our ability to win. This is the type of challenge and opportunity I was looking for, and I’m grateful to Josh and David for the chance to be a part of HBSE.”

Earlier this year, Bob Myers addressed the Harvard Law School class of 2025 and told them to think about what success meant to them. He asked them to share their ideas with the person sitting next to them. He said his own idea of success was being loved the most by the people who knew him best.

He reminded the students that it was okay to take their time in life and work, even if others tried to move ahead faster by lying or cheating. Bob Myers said they shouldn’t do that because, in the end, they had to live with their own actions and feel at peace with themselves.
