Celebrity couple Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall celebrated their 38th year of marital bliss. The couple first crossed paths while they were students at Northwestern University in the 1980s.
On June 25, 1987, they eventually tied the knot in California. Their wedding was officiated by Brad Hall’s father. Taking to her Instagram on June 25, 2025, Julia shared a photo of the two and captioned the post:
“38 years later (WTF), you’re still my Home Screen.”
During their time at the University, Julia joined a comedy troupe, "The Practical Company," of which Brad Hall was a part. However, the big break for the stars came in 1982 when they joined Saturday Night Live. The couple’s first child, Henry Hall, was born in June 1992. At that time, she worked on the 1989 sitcom, Seinfeld.
In a video interview with Vogue in 2019, Julia Louis-Dreyfus mentioned wearing oversized clothing during the show to conceal her pregnancy. She said:
“And frankly, I was pregnant twice during Seinfeld, so all of these oversized clothing, this clothing was very helpful to me as a pregnant person, both getting more and more pregnant, and then becoming less and less pregnant after giving birth.”
In 1997, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall had their younger son, Charlie Hall. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar in 2008, she talked about being pregnant twice while working on Seinfeld over nine years. She shared that she gained around 40 to 45 pounds each time, despite trying hard not to.
What did Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall say about working with each other in Picture Paris?
Julia Louis-Dreyfus acted in Picture Paris, released in 2012 and directed by Brad Hall. In an interview with HuffPost the same year, the couple was asked about working together in the movie.
She shared that they always worked together closely on everything, and while they had teamed up before, this time felt especially exciting because they were in charge. It reminded both of them of their early days doing theater in Chicago decades ago. Similarly, Brad Hall said:
“The real reason that we did this film was to immerse ourselves in the indie film spirit, which we haven't done very much at all, so it could've gone either way. But it turned out to be spectacularly fun. We had some luck getting into great festivals; Tribeca has been so cool, to be around people who just really like movies and want to make a bunch of really good movies, it's very exciting. It's un-cynical.”
The couple was spotted together on multiple occasions, like the 2015 Emmy Awards and Charlie’s basketball game in 2017. However, when Julia Louis-Dreyfus got her breast cancer diagnosis in 2017, she wrote:
“1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I'm the one. The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring friends, and fantastic insurance through my union.”
Recently, the family attended the premiere of Thunderbolts*, in which Julia Louis-Dreyfus also plays a role. Per People Magazine, one of the reasons she acted in the film was to impress her sons.
