We are excited to welcome Kyle to the University of Michigan family as he takes the helm of our football program.”On December 28, during a press conference, Whittingham said that it was an honour for him to coach the Michigan football team. He called it a place which "reeks of tradition." Kyle Whittingham said he left his position at Utah after working for 21 years. When he received the opportunity from Michigan, he said he became excited. Nevertheless, he was positive about working with the young men. He mentioned:“I just can't say enough about how myself, my family, my wife is excited to be here. I'm a grandpa of 11 kids, 11 grandchildren. So, they're all excited. I got some eight-year-old grandsons that are instant fans, and they've been playing college football now, and they've changed their team to Michigan on the college football game.”Kyle Whittingham also said:“One thing you'll learn about me is I don't like to talk a lot. And so I, you know, I'm would field questions. Anything you got to ask, I'm here for you. But I'm one of those rare college football coaches that doesn't like to hear himself talk.”The first question that was asked was about the priorities he had in place at Michigan football. Kyle Whittingham said it was the name, the tradition, and “the big house” that meant a lot to him. He mentioned:“I mean, it's one of the most storied programs in all of college football. So, that that was a no-brainer. You know, one of the top five jobs, as I mentioned, in the country.”While elaborating on his immediate priorities, Kyle Whittingham said it would be roster retention and meeting the young members. He would like to speak to them and find out more about them. He said college football is all about players. Also Read: Sherrone Moore’s booking photo: Ex-Michigan football coach appears red-eyed in his mugshot as details about his history of domestic violence emerge
