Eva Erickson, Survivor 48 star, dodged danger at Brown University. The doctoral candidate shared that she had just left her lab minutes before an active shooter struck the campus's engineering building.

On Saturday, an armed suspect dressed in all black shot two people and injured nine others during final examinations, per the Associated Press.

According to the Survivor alum, who is taking up her doctorate at the Ivy League school, she was "very lucky" to be able to take flight ahead of the impending threat. Eva Erickson took to her Instagram Stories hours later, detailing:

"I am safe. Yes, my office at Brown is in the building of the shooting but I was very lucky I left my lab 15 minutes prior to the active shooter alert."

Later on, she made follow-up information on Brown University's lockdown. She revealed:

"The active shooter warning initially went out at 4:22 p.m. The shooting took place in [the] Barus and Holley [Building], which is the building that my office is in. I am so, so extremely lucky that I was very unproductive at work today, because I was in my office in Barus and Holley in that area until 4 p.m."

The 25-year-old athlete continued, sharing that all the lights were turned off and the shades were pulled down during the in-campus lockdown.

"Everyone sat on the ground getting tons of texts, calls, calling our parents, telling people we love them, texting all of our friends. They said that they were going to move us. We are able now to look out the windows. There are SWAT teams all over. And they have us take all of our belongings, register who we are, where we were, get a wristband, and they walked us two buildings over to go to the OMAC, so that’s where I currently am."

Eva Erickson also said that she left work to go to the gym on an impulse, and it ultimately broke her loose from the gunner.

"I left, and about 20 minutes later, we get the warning. There’s now a rumor that the warning was sent out about 15 minutes after the shooting had started. I was leaving the building within five minutes of the shooter coming in."

At the time the reality star posted her recap of the Brown University incident, the perpetrator was still on the lam. Eva Erickson went on:

"We have no answers. Don’t know if we’re going to be here overnight. Do what we gotta do to be safe. I really appreciate the thoughts and prayers that everyone’s sending, but we need more than thoughts and prayers. This is ridiculous that as college students...we have to worry about someone shooting up our classrooms."

In the latest developments, police confirmed that a person of interest is now detailed. Authorities reported that the man is in his 20s. Information regarding the suspected assailant and the victims' identities is kept under wraps.
