Kyle Chrisley is speaking out after news broke that President Donald Trump has officially pardoned his father, Todd Chrisley, and stepmother, Julie Chrisley. Kyle expressed his joy speaking to E! News, where he said:

"I'm ecstatic, truly. I just found out a little bit ago and I still just can't believe it... So I'm just grateful to her and to President Trump for making this happen for my dad and Julie."

Although the Chrisley family is celebrating their pardon, the family dynamics still remain complicated, especially the relationships between Kyle and his siblings. Kyle Chrisley, while initially a part of the early seasons of Chrisley Knows Best, had allegedly become estranged from the family per People, over substance abuse, arrests and personal conflict.

According to his Instagram bio, Kyle Chrisley currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, and is focusing on improving his health and staying sober. His sister Lindsie Chrisley has said that Kyle has been clean and trying to nourish his health back to normal.

In 2024, Kyle was arrested for aggravated assault and resisting by the Rutherford County Sheriffs in Tennessee. At that time, Kyle addressed the arrest through a post on his instagram where he said he was being extorted, and that the police did not stand by him because of his family’s public legal problems.

"So let me get this straight. A man who has been threatening me for MONTHS, trying to extort money out of me, saying he will destroy me if I don’t pay, has made threats to MY CHILD, my wife... l’m not allowed to defend myself and my property?" he wrote on his Instagram, in a September 2024 post.

Although accusations had been made, Kyle Chrisley persisted that he was innocent and continued to fight the charges.

More about Todd and Julie Chrisley's recent pardon and Kyle Chrisley's health and family struggles

Kyle Chrisley has had a rocky personal development over the years. He has allegedly had to deal with substance abuse issues, legal problems and mental health. According to US Weekly, in 2019, he made it through a suicide attempt that he eventually attributed to side effects of his bipolar medication.

He was hospitalized that year and finally reconciled with his family. At that time, he publicly stated that he owed it to his now wife, Ashleigh Nelson, for helping him get on track.

"Back in 2019 I had the best ting happen to me my wife Ashleigh came to me when I felt like I had nobody and gave me strength and a reason to get out of bed," he captioned a March 2022 Instagram post.

Savannah Chrisley one of Kyle Chrisley’s siblings, has been open about her rough history with Kyle. In a 2024 episode of her Unlocked podcast, she said their father had every “right” to not speak with Kyle, stating abuse and manipulations involved in the past.

"My dad has every reason not to speak to Kyle. Just because it’s your child doesn’t mean that you have to accept abuse... What I don't process well is having Kyle play the victim to life circumstances he's created," she added, per People.

Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie Chrisley were sentenced to a total of 19 years behind bars after they were found guilty of federal tax evasion and bank fraud. Ever since their sentencing, Savannah has not been shy about achieving justice for her parents, even fighting for custody of their youngest son, Grayson, and niece, Chloe, during the ongoing legal disputes.

Donald Trump reportedly called Savannah Chrisley personally to tell her he would be pardoning them and said the couple had received,

“pretty harsh treatment”.
