Which celebrities have supported Kevin spacey following assault allegations? What we know as actor receives prestigious award in Cannes

Actor Kevin Spacey is about to witness another trial in England. During his tough times, celebrities have stepped up in support of the actor.

Celebrities like Liam Neeson, Sharon Stone, and Stephen Fry have vocally supported the actor who has been in the news for s*xual misconduct, which is being shown in the latest Channel 4 docuseries named Spacey Unmasked.

Liam Neeson told the Telegraph he was sad to hear of these accusations against Spacey and that he is a man of good character:

"I was deeply saddened to learn of these accusations against me. Kevin is a good man and a man of character. He’s sensitive, articulate and non-judgmental, with a terrific sense of humour. He is also one of our finest artists in the theatre and on camera," Neeson said.

Sharon Stone also said that Spacey is being wrongly blamed, and he cannot wait to see Spacey get back to work:

"I can’t wait to see Kevin back at work. He is a genius. He is so elegant and fun, generous to a fault and knows more about our craft than most of us ever will. It’s terrible that they are blaming him for not being able to come to terms with themselves for using him and negotiating with themselves because they didn’t get their secret agendas."

Kevin Spacey to receive Lifetime Achievement Award

As per The Guardian, actor Kevin Spacey is about to be celebrated for his contribution to the world of arts and cinema at the Cannes Better World Gala.

While there have been speculations amidst Spacey's s*xual harassment controversies and why the Cannes jury presented Spacey with the award, according to Euronews, this honor for Spacey's "artistic brilliance" and "impact on cinema and arts" is not directly associated with Cannes.

The Better World Fund's 10th anniversary gala dinner will be organized at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes.

Spacey is also visiting Cannes to get buyers for his new film, The Awakening. The film is being presented in the industry market, that is the Marché du Cannes, in the basement of Palais du Cinema.

Allegations against Kevin Spacey

Actor Kevin Spacey was found guilty of sexually assaulting four men after a four-week trial at the Southwark Crown Court in July 2023. He was previously found not guilty in a s*xual harassment case in a 2022 civil lawsuit in New York.

One of the most high-profile #MeToo cases, in 2017, around 30 men accused Spacey of s*xual assault and inappropriate behavior. Following the allegations, Netflix decided to remove Spacey from the last season of House of Cards and shelved his biopic of Gore Vidal.

Actor Guy Pearce accused Spacey of inappropriate behavior during their 1997 shoot together in the film LA Confidential. To this, Spacey gave a bullish reply earlier this year:

"Scared of Kevin because he’s quite an aggressive man," Pearce told Hollywood Reporter in 2017, along with adding that Spacey targeted him.

To this, Spacey responded with a video and asked Pearce to grow up:

"If I did something then that upset you, you could have reached out to me. We could have had that conversation, but instead, you’ve decided to speak to the press, who are now, of course, coming after me, because they would like to know what my response is to the things that you said. You really want to know what my response is? Grow up," Spacey responded through a video.
