Who is Abe Diaw? Chris Brown reportedly arrested over alleged 2023 altercation involving music producer

Chris Brown was reportedly taken into custody in England for Allegedly Smashing a bottle on music producer Abe Diaw’s head. According to multiple reports on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Brown was arrested in Manchester, England, over a 2023 incident at a London nightclub where the singer allegedly smashed a tequila bottle over music producer Abe Diaw’s head.

The arrest comes two years after Abe Diaw filed a $16 Million lawsuit against Brown, over suffering severe and lasting injuries, after the singer allegedly hit him in the head with the bottle at Tape London on February 19, 2023. Diaw, an alleged friend of Brown's for nearly a decade, also claimed the singer proceeded to “stomp” on him at the nightclub after stringing him with a bottle.

According to multiple reports at the time, Diaw claimed he assumed Chris Brown was reaching for a hug when the singer approached him at the club before striking him with a bottle.

At the time, Diaw also alleged the London police had surveillance footage of the incident. He told The Sun:

“He hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well. He’s making out it was one of his entourage, but it was him.” Diaw added, “I’ve spoken to the police, and they hope to resolve the matter soon. It’s now in the hands of my solicitor, and I can’t comment further.”

Who is Abe Diaw?

According to social media accounts, Abe Diaw or Abraham “Abe” Diaw describes himself as a music executive living in Florence, Italy. Diaw also appears to travel the globe often for gigs, living a transient life.

He has amassed over 35K followers on instagram. He has also worked with several upcoming artists and produced music under his Onegodmusic label.

According to his Facebook profile, he describes himself as “The boss of Florence, Italy Night Life.” He was also a PR manager for various clubs.

In 2023, Abe Diaw told The Sun he was hospitalised after sustaining several injuries, including cuts on his head and torn ligaments in his leg, following a Chris Brown altercation.

At the time, the publication citing Chris Brown’s reps said that the singer planned to visit a police station for questioning on March 29, 2023. However, he reportedly left the country and returned to America. The source said:

It is unclear if Brown has been released on bail. Diaw has yet to address the singer’s arrest.
