Bobby Sherman died on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 81. The singer’s wife, Brigitte Poublon, and longtime friend, John Stamos, announced the news of his passing in a joint Instagram post.
The former General Hospital star shared the late teen idol’s pictures with him and his spouse. He also shared Poublon’s official statement in the caption that read,
“It is with the heaviest heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Bobby Sherman. Bobby left this world holding my hand—just as he held up our life with love, courage, and unwavering grace through all 29 beautiful years of marriage. I was his Cinderella, and he was my prince charming.”
For the unversed, Brigitte Poublon was Sherman’s second wife, whom he married in 2011. She co-founded Brigitte & Bobby Sherman Children's Foundation (BBSCF) with her husband in 2011 while also serving as the organization’s CEO. According to BBSCF, Poublon was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and arrived in the USA during the ‘60s as a political refugee.
Before meeting Bobby Sherman, she had a career in real estate. Brigitte Poublon grew up in South Central Los Angeles and studied law and business at El Camino College and UCLA. Poublon was in high school when she received her real estate license. She continued her career with her college studies and eventually retired in 2011.
According to her past Facebook posts, Brigitte was born on July 14. She hasn’t confirmed her age publicly, but an Instagram user commented, “60 is the new 40” under her birthday post for Bobby Sherman’s 80th birth anniversary. Thus, Brigitte is likely in her 60s. Moreover, she was 13 when she first saw her future husband and then-teen idol on American Bandstand, per A Breath of Fresh Air blog.
For those unaware, Bobby Sherman appeared as a guest on the program during an episode that aired on February 13, 1971. The late singer was 27 at the time, making him at least 14 years older than Brigitte Poublon, assuming she watched the original broadcast. However, the two didn’t cross paths for decades.
Brigitte Poublon announced Bobby Sherman’s cancer diagnosis in March 2025
The "Little Woman" singer passed away in June 2025, months after his wife publicly revealed his health struggles with a terminal illness. Sherman was battling with stage 4 cancer, Brigitte Poublon said in a post on her Facebook page in March. She addressed Bobby’s fans and wrote,
“As many of you know, Bobby has been retired for some time and is no longer able to participate in cameos, sign autographs, or make appearances. It is with a heavy heart that we share Bobby has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. During this challenging time, we kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our privacy. Thank you so much for still remembering him. We really appreciate it.”
Brigitte Poublon told Fox News Digital in April that her husband had kidney cancer, which had “spread everywhere.” She added,
“He was doing crossword puzzles with me in the last few days. And then all of a sudden Saturday, he turned around and…he’s just sleeping more and his body's not working anymore. It's not. Everything's shutting down.”
Brigitte told the outlet that Bobby was “at home with special care” at the time, and three months later, he passed away. Sherman is survived by his wife Brigitte and two sons – Tyler and Christopher – from his first marriage with Patti Carnel. He was also a grandfather to six grandchildren.
