After dating for five months, Amy Slaton and Brian Lovvorn are now engaged. The latter proposed to the former on the May 13 episode of 1000-Lb Sisters. Slaton, whom Lovvorn proposed inside Henderson Haunts' haunted house in Kentucky, expressed her happiness by jokingly saying:

“I ain’t gonna lie. This is my best proposal yet.”

Brian Lovvorn replied to his fiancée:

“I hoped it would be, and this should be your last proposal, dear.”

Unlike Slaton, Lovvorn has stayed away from the public eye and caught the attention of the fans due to his relationship with the 1000-Lb Sisters star. The 52-year-old is from Madisonville, Kentucky, and went to Madisonville North Hopkins High School, per his Facebook profile. Brian Lovvorn is a sportswriter.

During the 1000-Lb Sisters Season 7 Episode 1 that aired on April 15, Amy Slaton first talked about how she met her boyfriend:

“We were in the mosh pit and we were talking and singing and stuff..And we went to go get street tacos. And we haven’t been apart since.”

Despite their current dynamic, Amy was seemingly skeptical about dating Brian Lovvorn, as she told her sister Amanda:

“I didn’t think I would like him, you know. Even I told him, ‘I wasn’t attracted to you at first.’ Yeah, and I told him that, and he respected that about me.”

Lovvorn was previously married to Lori Darnell. The pair tied the knot in 2006, per Brian’s Facebook profile, but it is unclear when they parted ways.

For those unaware, Amy Slaton and Brian Lovvorn were also apprehended last year in September at a Tennessee zoo. The pair faced charges of drug possession and child endangerment after the officers allegedly found marijuana and mushrooms in their vehicle.

Brian Lovvorn and Amy Slaton pleaded guilty in December, per reports from various outlets. They didn’t receive any prison sentence but were fined $1,000.

Brian Lovvorn got the idea of the haunted house proposal from Amy Slaton

The TLC star was seemingly left surprised after getting proposed on the recent episode of the 1000-Lb Sisters. After saying yes to her fiance, Amy exclusively spoke to People Magazine about the idea being the haunted house proposal. Slaton told the outlet:

“Originally, he [Brian] slipped a green apple Ring Pop on my finger while I was asleep, about two weeks into our relationship. I was shocked at first, and I said yes but only if the real proposal was in a haunted house on Halloween.”

People Magazine noted Brian took Amy’s joke seriously, making his proposal at Henderson Haunts' haunted house memorable. The outlet revealed that Lovvorn used a gothic ring to ask for Slaton's hand in marriage. The silver band features two skeleton hands forming a heart instead of a diamond.

Amy recalled what Brian said while proposing to her:

“He said something about, 'My love for you is crazy, it's scary how compatible we are.’ Just like [how] our matching tattoos say, 'Scary love.’”

Slaton asserted that their “engagement life” might be short-lived, but their “marriage will last eternity.”
