As per a recent article by Variety, Cameron Boyce's mother Libby Boyce recently thanked Adam Sandler for the tribute Sandler paid in Happy Gilmore 2.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Libby Boyce thanked Adam Sandler for honoring Cameron's legacy and shared a still of a frame with Boyce and Sandler in the movie Grown Ups 2.
“Thank you [Adam Sandler] for honoring Cam’s legacy in Happy Gilmore 2.” wrote Libby in the post.
Libby Boyce is actor,dancer and philanthropist Cameron Boyce's mother. She is of Jewish descendant and a core member of the Board of Directors of the Cameron Boyce Foundation. The foundation aims to honor the legacy of late Cameron Boyce, late son of Libby Boyce by helping fight epilepsy.
Cameron Boyce died in 2019 due to an epileptic seizure during his sleep.
Boyce rose to fame as a child star, appearing in the Disney movie series Jessie and Descendants. Prior to playing Sandler's on-screen kid in Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2, he starred in the 2008 movies Mirrors and Eagle Eye.
The scene is from the movie Happy Gilmore 2 wherein the protagonist is taking a break. When Happy approaches the desk, one of the clerks is watching a scene from Disney's Jesse featuring Boyce.
A day before, she also posted the snap of an article about Adam Sandler paying tribute to her son in Happy Gilmore 2 along with some details of Cameron Boyce and Sandler's relationship.
“Adam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death. Cameron was supposed to be in ‘Hubie Halloween’ and they were strategizing. They had a bond I think related to being authentic, funny and just keeping it real. Adam always finds a way to keep Cam’s memory alive which warms our heart.” Libby wrote on Instagram.
After Boyce's demise, Adam Sandler took to X (previously known as Twitter) and paid tribute to the late actor.
“Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.” Adam Sandler wrote on X

The foundation aims to help people who are struggling with the disease.
Libby Boyce is married to Victor Boyce who shared two children, Cameron and Maya Boyce. Libby has also worked for the County of Los Angeles' Health Department for around 34 years and retired on September 28th, 2024.
Libby continues to honor the legacy of her late son Cameron through the work done by the foundation and hopes to be a grandma someday.
