Who is Casie Baker’s mother? All about MGK’s ex and daughter amid Kids Choice Awards appearance

Machine Gun Kelly, also known as MGK, made a rare appearance with his 15-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker, at the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

While the rapper-turned-actor has always been open about his close bond with Casie, much less is known about her mother, Emma Cannon, a woman who has remained mostly private over the years.

In contrast to Machine Gun Kelly’s relationship with actress Megan Fox, his relationship with Emma Cannon has always been low-profile. According to an article by the SCMP, Cannon is not present on social media, isn’t seen out and about with the rapper, and lives a life away from the Hollywood scene.

Emma holds significant ties to MGK’s personal history. The two are said to have crossed paths as teens years ago, long before MGK’s career took off in Cleveland, Ohio. Emma Cannon is thought to have been of a similar age to Machine Gun Kelly when he welcomed his daughter Casie in 2009.

While it’s unclear how their past relationship went down, MGK has always made it known that he has the utmost respect for Emma Cannon as a mother. In the past, he publicly praised her parenting, including posting on social media, where he wrote:

"Happy Mother’s Day to the best mother I’ve seen first hand," he wrote in an Instagram post according to SCMP.

Casie Colson Baker has slowly been introduced to the public and media with Machine Gun Kelly by her side. From walking the red carpet to appearing on his albums, she is a big part of his life personally and professionally.

Casie is also said to have inspired a major turning point in MGK’s life. It was a heartbreaking comment by his daughter that supposedly prompted him to quit alcohol, which he revealed on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.

When she was just 12, Casie was already featured on a track from Machine Gun Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout album and also worked with comedian Pete Davidson (People magazine). MGK has also shared that he listens to her music opinions more than his own, which really shows how much he trusts and respects her.

"I trust her opinion more than I trust my own now... Like, she has her finger on the pulse of what's hot, or if I'm doing a song and it's the right one, she'll confirm it," he said on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox welcomed their daughter, Saga Blade Fox-Baker, earlier this year. Talking to People in an exclusive interview, Casie Baker expressed her love for the newborn as she now becomes a big sister.

"It's really just so cute. I love her so much. It's so cute. It's like, different, you know?" She said.

As Casie makes her way into the spotlight, one can see that both her father and her mother have been instrumental in raising the young teenager.
