Christopher Wilding, the second child of Elizabeth Taylor and her then-husband, Michael Wilding, recently sat down for a rare interview to share his perspective on Taylor Swift paying homage to his mother in her new song "The Life Of a Showgirl." In his new interview with People Magazine, Wilding admitted that he was surprised to learn that the Grammy-nominated singer had included a reference to Elizabeth Taylor in her song. He said:
"She and my mom do seem like kindred spirits. They are both the very embodiment of female empowerment. The way [ Taylor Swift] has deftly captured the similarities and parallel tracks in their careers and personal lives is delightful."
Taylor Swift, in her song "The Life of a Showgirl," makes not just one but several references to the Elizabeth Taylor, whom she considers as her "role model." According to People Magazine, this is not the first time the "Wildest Dreams" singer paid homage to Elizabeth Taylor. Back in 2017, she refferenced Elizabeth Taylor's relationship with Richard Burton in her song "Ready For It?"

Christopher Wilding, whose full name is Christopher Edward Wilding, was born in California on February 27, 1955, to Elizabeth Taylor and her second husband, Michael Wilding. According to People Magazine, he went on to pursue a career in entertainment, having worked both as an actor and an assistant director on several occasions.
According to his IMDB Profile, Christopher Wilding worked in the sound department on movies such as "Judgement Night" "Amos & Andrew" and "Tombstone." In addition to that, he has appeared as an actor in films including "Breakthrough" and "The Taming of the Shrew."
He dated heiress Aileen Getty, the granddaughter of J. Paul Getty, founder of the Getty Oil Company. The couple later tied the knot in 1981 and welcomed their first child, Caleb Wilding, in 1983, followed by their second child, Andrew Wilding, in 1984. The couple were together for eight years until their divorce in 1989.
Christopher Wilding, who now resides in Calabasas, later married his second wife, Margaret Carlton. The couple share one child, a son named Lowell Wilding, whom they welcomed in 1992. In his interview with People Magazine, Christopher Wilding revealed how Elizabeth Taylor was far ahead of her time, saying:
"She was never cowed by the establishment whenever it criticized or condemned her lifestyle, which was often. Believe it or not, she had a strong moral compass and she made her choices in alignment with it, even when she knew they might not be popular. She was curious, open-minded and lived life on her own terms until the day she died."
According to Variety, the new Fox documentary titled "Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar," was released earlier this month on October 6.
