Pavel Durov recently opened up about fathering over 100 children and writing a will at 40.

The Telegram CEO/co-founder told the French magazine Le Point on Thursday, June 19, that all of his kids will inherit his fortune. During the chat, the entrepreneur, who co-founded Telegram and VK with his brother Nikolai, also stated that all of his children are equal to him (translated from French),

“I want to specify that I make no difference between my children: there are those who were conceived naturally and those who come from my sperm donations. They are all my children and will all have the same rights! I don't want them to tear each other apart after my death.”

Pavel Durov told the magazine that he is the “official father” of six children, whom he shares with three partners. At the same time, he also claimed to have been a biological parent (through anonymous sperm donations) to over 100 children across 12 countries. According to Le Point, the billionaire shared that the clinic, where he first donated 15 years ago to help a friend, informed him that he was a father of over 100 babies.

He reportedly shares two of his six official kids with Daria Bondarenko, his ex-wife. According to Forbes, Pavel’s former classmate Maxim Petrenchuk revealed in the 2021 documentary Durov that he met his future spouse at St. Petersburg State University.

The Telegram CEO studied at the Faculty of Philology, while Bondarenko attended classes at the Faculty of History and was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Studen. Per Forbes, Daria was residing in Barcelona as of 2021. She and Durov’s two children have maintained a low profile.

While the billionaire has maintained that he never married and prefers to live alone, another woman claimed to be his ex-wife. According to the Russian newspaper Комсомольская правда (Komsomolskaya Pravda), Irina Bolgar asserted that Pavel Durov is the father of her three children – Two sons and a daughter.

However, the tech billionaire hasn’t confirmed anything about the claims of marriage.

Pavel Durov’s kids will not have access to his fortune for 30 more years

The father of over 100 children stated in a recent interview with Le Point that all of his children are equal to him regardless of how they were conceived. During the conversation, Pavel Durov, who has a net worth of $17.1B per Forbes, also mentioned writing the will that will provide his kids access to his fortune after 30 years, from June 19, 2025.

The former VK CEO revealed that he chose a three-decade-long period to ensure that his children live normal lives. He told Le Point (translated from French),

“I decided that my children would not have access to my fortune until a period of thirty years has elapsed, starting from today. I want them to live like normal people, to build themselves up alone, to learn to trust themselves, to be able to create, not to be dependent on a bank account.”

Pavel Durov, who is 40, was asked about why he drafted his will so early. The businessmen talked about the risks involved in his work. Durov, who faced an arrest in France last year, said (translated from French),

“I want to protect my children, but also the company I created, Telegram. I want Telegram to forever remain faithful to the values I defend.”

Talking about Telegram, Pavel Durov claimed that a “non-profit foundation will take over” if he disappears.

For those unaware, Durov, who is a Russian, French, and UAE citizen, first revealed about fathering 100 babies in a Telegram post in July last year.
