Udo Kierspe was born on the 14th of October 1944, in Cologne, Germany, as Udo Kierspe. He relocated to London in the 1960s and took a start in film. His early performances assisted him in being a part of the independent cinemas, which influenced most of his works.

Kier has continued working with numerous reputable directors. He has appeared in various films directed by Lars von Trier, such as Breaking the Waves, Dancer in the Dark, and Melancholia. These movies gave him a chance to play multidimensional characters and appeal to other audiences beyond the horror genre.

He also featured in the popular American movies. Movies such as My Own Private Idaho, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and Blade helped him get some of his familiar roles. These parts assisted him in revealing the other aspect of his talent and took him into more mainstream projects.
