Actor Jeremy Renner is making headlines after Chinese film director and writer Yi Zhou raised allegations against him. On November 6, The Daily Mail published an exclusive report mentioning that Renner allegedly sent explicit images to Zhou. The filmmaker had shared several Instagram posts over the past few days about what happened to her.Meanwhile, speaking to the media outlet, Zhou shared more instances. She said that once Jeremy Renner had a drink and became mad at her. This went to such an extreme that she had to lock herself in the washroom, Yi Zhou shared. She said:“I had to location share to my team, my parents and Disney colleagues in case something happens to me they know where I am. I had to lock myself in a room to be safe praying he would not come into the room at night as he was really angry. I did not say a word, I was so scared for my life.”The outlet also showed screenshots of conversations between Yi Zhou and her coworkers. In one of those, she asked the other person if she could call, fearing that Renner was in a violent mood. In one of her recent Instagram posts that had the image of the word ‘CANCEL,’ Zhou explained what she had endured over the past months. She wrote:“I feel profound despair that a project created to uplift below-the-line artists @chroniclesofdisney and to celebrate the history of one of the world’s most beloved companies, Disney, has been damaged by online trolling and by the misconduct of Jeremy Renner.”Yi Zhou also said that Jeremy Renner threatened that he would call ICE on herIn another Instagram post that she shared recently, Yi Zhou revealed that she reached out to Jeremy Renner over a phone call and asked him to do better as a person. She said she wanted him to be respectful towards her. However, this conversation did not turn out well as she explained:“When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me. Such behavior is unacceptable and emblematic of the imbalance of power that continues to harm women in our industry.”Speaking to The Daily Mail, Yi Zhou said that she did not reach out to Jeremy Renner, but it was the other way round. According to her statement:“I didn't even know his name, never watched a movie of his. He used me and denied me and denied our work.” View this post on Instagram Instagram PostAnother screenshot posted on the report showed Yi Zhou calling Jeremy Renner a “pig” after he allegedly sent her inappropriate and explicit photos. However, she said she had a first-hand experience and thanked her team for their support.
