As per a recent article by the New York Post, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's daughter, Violet Affleck, recently delivered a speech at the United Nations. The 19-year-old wore a KN95 mask as a part of the "Healthy Indoor Air: A Global Call to Action" at the UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday.

Fin (Born Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck) and Samuel are Affleck and Garner's children, who split in 2015 after ten years of marriage. Violet is their eldest daughter.

Details of Violet Affleck's UN Speech

Violet's speech at the United Nations revolved around the importance of mask mandates in preventing the surge of COVID-19, five years after the deadly disease took over the entire world.

Violet Affleck mentioned that the world is ignoring the 'ongoing pandemic' and argued that mask mandates were dropped too quickly. Violet Affleck contracted a post-viral condition in 2019. She further criticized that the grown-ups are careless and are beating the drum of 'back to normal.' Violet claiming:

The "adults" are "ignoring, downplaying, and concealing both the prevalence of airborne transmission and the threat of Long Covid manifested in a series of choices," Violet said, criticizing them for their "relentless beat of 'back to normal.'"

Her comments contradict numerous studies, including a significant one from the Cochrane Library, which concluded that masks had "little to no difference" in halting the spread of COVID. Citing evidence that SARS-CoV-2 is airborne and can remain inside, Violet said:

"One infection can result in disabling damage to almost every cell in the body from the brain and heart to the nerves and blood vessels."

Violet further stated that the youth were not given much choice to choose for their future. She stated that every subsequent infection is a danger for people who already have it:

"Young people lacked both real choice in the matter and information about what was being chosen for us."

In her speech, Voilet said:

"Every subsequent infection increases the risk of long COVID and places people who already have it in greater danger,"

Children "will not know a world without debilitating pain and exhaustion, who cannot trust their bodies to play, explore, and imagine," Violet Affleck continued, adding that she was "terrified" that they might spread the illness in schools.

“I am furious on their behalf. It is a neglect of the highest order to look children in the eyes and say, ‘We knew how to protect you and we didn’t do it.'” Said Violet Affleck

Affleck further said that we do have access to technology for preventing airborne diseases and that we refuse to use it. Violet Affleck showed her concern about the future and discussed the issue of indoor smoking. As she turned her attention to another health battle, the drive to ban smoking in public places, she cautioned:

"And I shudder to think of where we will be in another five years of unmitigated infection and reinfection."

She added:

"A lot of you battled the protracted and difficult fight against smoking indoors. At nearly twenty, my only recollection of that time period is being perplexed by the notices prohibiting smoking on airplanes when I was younger."
