Puka Nacua’s older brother, Samson Nacua, who played with him at BYU, received a one-game suspension at the end of April, according to ESPN.

The United Football League handed the Michigan Panthers' wide receiver a penalty after he had a verbal argument with a fan and then slapped him. The incident happened after a UFL game against t St. Louis Battlehawks, which the Panthers lost 32-27. Samson’s actions were captured on video, which later made its way to social media.

More than a month later, the Panthers receiver’s younger sibling, Puka Nacua, has weighed in on the incident. The 24-year-old, who is signed with the Los Angeles Rams, was recently seen at LAX with his mother, where TMZ Sports had a brief chat with him. Puka Nacua was asked about the advice he gave Samson after the slapping incident. The Rams receiver said,

“Man, you [Samson] just got to be cool, I mean [laughs]. People are always going to have something to say to try to be able to compose yourself. One, to always protect yourself and your teammates is something that my mom raised me in, but I mean you shouldn’t cross that line for sure.”

He added,

“You got to find a way to calm. I mean normally if that was me, he would definitely do that [laughs].”

During the brief conversation, the younger Nacua sibling jokingly admitted to being the one at the receiving end during their brotherly fights when he was a child.

Puka Nacua spoke about childhood scuffles with Samson Nacua, retiring early, mother’s advice, and more

After the LA Rams receiver mentioned the advice he gave his brother after the slapping incident, the TMZ correspondent was quick to ask him about their sibling fights. While responding, Puka spoke about Samson being taller and bigger in physique and jokingly admitted that his older brother used to win when they were kids, but not anymore. He was quoted saying,

“He’s [Samson] got a little bit of size. He’s a little bit taller than I am, but I think I got him now. You got me back in the day, not no more.”

Puka Nacua expressed his excitement ahead of the upcoming season, which will be his third at the Rams since he was picked in the 2023 NFL draft. The star player was reminded of a statement he gave in March on the "Join The Lobby" podcast about his desire to retire by 30. Nacua assured that he would win “a couple of Super Bowls” before hanging up the boots.

Puka then reflected upon the best advice he got from his mother and talked about focusing on “hard work and loving everybody.” He recounted how his mom used to attend all his and his siblings' games while working hard and loving everybody.

He also mentioned being excited to play with Davante Adams, the 2014 Green Bay Packers draft pick who signed a two-year deal with the Rams for $44 million in March. Puka Nacua talked briefly about the team combination and seemed excited about the start of the 2025 season in September.
