Joe Rogan recently spoke up about Jimmy Kimmel's suspension by Disney-owned ABC Network, but in a rather surprising turn of events, he criticized the move and people who had previously celebrated it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the latest episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, he explained why he believes the decision, which has now been overturned, should never have happened, adding that people who supported it are "crazy." He said:

"You’re crazy for supporting this.”

Five days after Charlie Kirk's death, Jimmy Kimmel commented on the incident on his show. Just two days later, on September 17, it was announced that his show Jimmy Kimmel Live! was "suspended indefinitely" over those comments. According to reports, this move came after Nexstar Media Group, one of the largest broadcast companies in the US, criticized the remark, saying that they would not broadcast the popular show and would slowly begin replacing it with other programming.

More about Joe Rogan's comments about Jimmy Kimmel's suspension, as he calls out people who cheered the decision

In the latest episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, which aired on Tuesday, September 23, the podcaster opened up about why the government should not get involved in regulating what a person can say on air during their show. He spoke about the matter with his guest, Andrew Santino, and said:

“I definitely don’t think that the government should be involved ever in dictating what a comedian can or cannot say in a monologue."

He further added:

"The problem is the companies, if they’re being pressured by the government, so if that’s real and if people on the right are like, ‘Yeah, go get ’em.’ Oh my God, you are crazy. This because this will be used on you.”

These comments by Joe Rogan came just before it was announced by Disney on Monday that they had overturned the decision to axe Jimmy Kimmel's show. They released a statement saying:

"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday."

On its return, Jimmy Kimmel Live! aired for the first time on Tuesday, September 23, since the incident erupted last week. The Emmy-nominated host received a standing ovation as he walked onto the stage to host the show, thanking his audiences and fellow late night hosts for the support.

Joe Rogan had further added in his comments about the suspension, saying:

"You don’t think that the f*cking globalist lizard people who run the world are sitting here going: 'Great, what do we got — three years? We'll wait this out. We'll wait this out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, let them say the government should be involved in censoring people’s speech."

At the moment, the conservative-leaning Sinclair and Nexstar Broadcasting Media have both announced that they will not air the show on their several TV stations throughout the country.
