Let us know more about Osgood Perkins' upcoming film, The Young People.
Here's everything about Osgood Perkins' upcoming film, The Young People
After Osgood Perkins' latest horror film release this year, The Monkey, he is in the process of releasing his next film, Keeper, this year as well. After the completion of these films, the director is now working on his next project, The Young People. The script of the film was also penned by Perkins.
Actors Nico Parker and Lola Tung are locked in to play the leads in the film. Both the actors took to their respective Instagram accounts to share the news, and the official account of NEON. The post features a photograph of the cover of the script of the film. The caption reads:
"THE YOUNG PEOPLE.
A Bad Trip from Osgood Perkins.
Starring Lola Tung and Nico Parker.
Coming soon."
Comments praising the cast have flooded the post, as it seems that a lot of them are 'SEATED' and 'OBSESSED' by looking at the 'ICONIC' cast.

These positive reactions are bound to happen, as the audience has just freshly witnessed both Nico Parker's and Lola Tung's works. Parker has recently starred in the Dean DeBlois live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon, and Lola Tung is iconic for her portrayal of Isabel "Belly" Conklin in the romantic series The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022-present). We recently saw her in the freshly released third season of this series.
The Young People is funded by NEON and Lyrical Media, with the former also handling its distribution. They shall jointly release the film in theaters. As per The Hollywood Reporter, at present, NEON is looking for foreign purchasers of the film for its international release at the Toronto Film Festival. The producers of the film are Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Chris Ferguson, and the helmer, Osgood Perkins himself.
The production is reported to commence this year, during the fall, in Vancouver, Canada. Plot details of the film are not revealed yet.
This year has been a lucrative one for NEON, as this year alone, their 2024 film Anora has grabbed a total of 5 awards at the Academy. Some of the most successful films in association with this company include I, Tonya (2017), Parasite (2019), Ferrari (2023), Anatomy of a Fall (2023), Immaculate (2024), etc. Osgood Perkins' two directorials, Longlegs (2024) and The Monkey (2025), are also added to this list.
