@Galacticpurveyor pointed out another biting observation from the trailer - about a time in the music industry when the business depended more on the creative value than the image the artists sold to the world.

"Al Teller and Jon Landau having a discussion about Springsteen back when there was a music industry and people (executives) actually knew about music in the business. Good times. Liking the trailer a lot."

@OrionInSpace is in awe of Scott Cooper's vision as a director, who has previously worked with the American Psycho star Christian Bale on Hostiles (2017) and Out of the Furnace (2013).

"Scott Cooper absolutely has the ability to make the best work of his career here. I say as someone who believes that his film Hostiles with Christian Bale is one of the most underrated films of the last 10 years. Highly recommend!"

Then, @CarsonAdams915 mentions a timestamp in the trailer that almost replicates the landscape from the album cover of Nebraska – for a film that chronicles the time in Springsteen's life during its production.

"2:14 Casually putting in a shot that’s the exact same as Nebraska’s album cover… masterful"

Deliver Me From Nowhere is a biographical musical drama film that follows a part of Bruce Springsteen's life. Its official plot synopsis reads:

"From 20th Century Studios, “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe."

The trailer arrives a day after the studio shared a half-minute teaser of the "Colts Neck - Demo" of Springsteen's iconic track Born in the U.S.A. Here is the full list of the cast and the characters they play in the film:

  • Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen
  • Matthew Anthony Pellicano as young Bruce Springsteen
  • Jeremy Strong as Jon Landau, Springsteen's manager and record producer
  • Paul Walter Hauser as Mike Batlan, Springsteen's recording engineer during the Nebraska sessions
  • Odessa Young as Faye, Bruce's love interest
  • Stephen Graham as Douglas Springsteen, Bruce’s father
  • Gaby Hoffmann as Adele Springsteen, Bruce’s mother
  • Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin, Springsteen’s producer
  • David Krumholtz as Al Teller, the record executive at Columbia
  • Johnny Cannizzaro as Steven Van Zandt
