BEC Arena is 2 minutes from Junction 9 on the M60 road. It is accessible via the Parkway Tram Stop. The address for the venue is Longbridge Rd, Trafford Park, Manchester M17 1SN.Outbreak Festival was founded in Jordan Coupland and Lee Follows in 2011. Speaking about the festival's foundation, Coupland stated in an interview in 2017:"We started off in small places, packing 300 people into a 100 capacity venue now were packing out Canal Mills which holds 1300 bodies. It’s really come along way. Seriously, it’s been non-stop, it’s no joke tying all the loose ends together, people just see the end result without noticing the months of work behind it."The founder continued:"No, barriers, no bouncers and non-stop stage dives. I never got to see the bands I wanted to up North so decided just to go ahead and organise a festival I’d like to see in Leeds."He also talked about the comparison between Outbreak and Rebellion, another hardcore festival:"Rebellion’s been going since 1996 so I think we have a long way to go before we start pulling in those kinds of crowds. We have to consider that if it gets too big it might lose the intimacy which is the essence of a hardcore show. However if a similar scheme exists in Leeds it would be wise to see if we can work with other business’s to make Leeds a hardcore destination."Outbreak Festival has, over the years, featured performances by Brutality Will Prevail, Harm's Way, Turnstile, Cro-Mags, Comeback Kid, and Deafheaven, as well as Sweet Pill, Trapped Under Ice and more. The festival draws crowds of 10 to 15k.
