Ellen DeGeneres commemorated her 17th wedding anniversary with an emotional post on Instagram. DeGeneres, who tied the knot with Portia de Rossi in 2008, shared a clip from their wedding ceremony.

In the video, Ellen first introduces her mother-in-law to the audience before joining her soon-to-be wife to review the seating and flower arrangements. The scene then transitions to the wedding ceremony, followed by a glimpse of the couple playfully running from the paparazzi. The former show host captioned the video:

“Happy 17th anniversary of the best day of my life. Portia, I love you more every day. #MarriageForAll.”

Portia and Ellen DeGeneres met at a concert in 2001 and began dating in 2004. They announced their engagement on the Ellen Show in 2008. The couple’s anniversary comes after they moved from America to the Cotswolds, a region of Southwestern England known for its hills, in 2024.

Ellen DeGeneres spoke about her new home on July 20, 2025:

"We're just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture—everything you see is charming, and it's just a simpler way of life."

She added:

"It's clean. Everything here is just better—the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.”
