Superman star in talks to gets cast opposite Ariana Grande in Meet The Parents 4

After winning over the hearts of the women at the Daily Planet office as Jimmy Olsen, Skyler Gisondo seems ready to meet the parents in Meet the Parents 4. Deadline reports that he is in talks to join the cast.

If the deal goes through, Gisondo will reportedly play one of the sons of Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) and Pamela Byrnes-Focker (Teri Polo). Singer-songwriter Ariana Grande has already joined the cast and will play the strong-willed fiancée to Greg & Pamela's son (per The Hollywood Reporter). It will bring the bittersweet rivalry between Greg and his father-in-law, Jack (Robert De Niro).

Owen Wilson returns to play Kevin Rawley and Blythe Danner as Dina Byrnes. John Hamburg writes and directs the fourth installment of this franchise, which began with a 2000 comedy directed by Jay Roach based on a 1990s indie comedy. Roach returned to direct the second project in 2004, titled Meet the Fockers. Later, director Paul Weitz brought the third chapter, dubbed Little Fockers.

Roach's first film earned a positive reception, but the latter installments received mainly negative reviews. It didn't affect the franchise's box office chances. After earning over $330 million against a $55 million budget for the first film, the 2004 film went on to earn over $522 million against an $80 million budget, while the 2010 film earned over $310 million. Hamburg co-wrote the scripts for all these projects.

Robert De Niro pulls double duty as the star and producer of Meet the Parents 4. He will produce this comedy project with Jane Rosenthal through Tribeca Productions. Director Jay Roach may have stepped back from directing, but he will support the project as a producer through Delirious Media.

Ben Stiller produces through Red Hour Films along with John Lesher, while director John Hamburg reportedly produces it through his Particular Pictures banner. According to Deadline, Matt Reilly and Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for Universal.

As revealed earlier, Meet the Parents 4 will star De Niro and Stiller, apart from Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, and Ariana Grande. The Superman star Skyler Gisondo is looking to be the next addition to this list. More details about this star-studded comedy project are expected to be revealed soon.

Skyler Gisondo, who may appear in Meet the Parents 4, was an integral part of the cast of DCU's Superman. Since the film's release, he has quickly risen to fame as the most eligible bachelor from Clark Kent's newspaper office. Before that, he played Gideon, one of the recurring roles in HBO's Emmy-nominated comedy series, The Righteous Gemstones.

In the past, the actor also starred in the Peacock series, The Resort, and the Prime Video series, Fairfax. Gisondo was also in the cast of Paul Thomas Anderson's 2021 coming-of-age comedy, Licorice Pizza, headlined by Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman. Hopefully, he will soon join the likes of Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents 4.
