A24 has just launched the teaser for The Moment, and it features Charli XCX in a role as herself. Even though we cannot decipher any plot details in the trailer, the teaser cut is smartly made in a way that keeps the audience hooked. What also makes the film even more special is that it is the debut directorial film of the helmer Aidan Zamiri.

In the teaser, Charli XCX utters some introspective lines, stating:

“When I felt like people started to care about me, nothing else mattered.”
“Nothing was more important than Brat.”

The iconic 2024 album of the singer, "Brat", fetched her two Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Recording Package and Best Dance/Electronic Album. In the trailer of The Moment, we also witness a poignant fan interaction moment of Charli XCX, as a fan gifts the singer's drawn portrait to her by saying:

"You saved my life. And I drew this picture of you."

The teaser not only features the singer, but is coded with the aesthetic language of Charli XCX painted all over it. Along with her, the cast includes Hailey Benton Gates, Rosanna Arquette, Jaime Demetriou, Kate Berlant, Alexander Skarsgård, Isaac Powell, Kylie Jenner, and Rachel Sennott.

In a conversation with Vanity Fair, Charli XCX, in her words, stated The Moment to be “a 2024 period piece.”

Also, the mockumentary drama does not take the quintessential route of a pop singer's behind-the-scenes tour chronicle. It is a crafted narrative, as explained by the singer herself:

“It’s not a tour documentary or a concert film in any way, but the seed of the idea was conceived from this idea of being pressured to make one.”

Joined by David Hinojosa, Charli is also producing this film under the banner of her production house, Studio365.
