As Spider-Man: Brand New Day gears up for production in a matter of a few weeks, the team seems to be working day and night to film the most spectacular scenes imaginable. It is rumored that much like No Way Home, the upcoming fourth movie is set in New York. Now, we know that the movie will begin production in Glasgow, which will supposedly double as New York for Brand New Day.

Now, rumors are circulating across the internet that the production team is working on an exciting action scene. The scene will supposedly feature explosions, and the location scout team of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has also identified the building that will be used in the scene. But, for now, they are figuring out a way to film the scene without damaging the structure, because it is 100 years old.

The Spider-Man: Brand New Day team is creating a digital model of the building:

As mentioned before, the Brand New Day production team has identified a building in Glasgow as a filming location for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The said building is the Scottish Legal Life Assurance Society building, which dates back to the 1920s, making it at least a century old. Because of that, the Scottish Legal Life Assurance Society is regarded as a heritage structure and is protected, meaning the team has to be careful.

This is why the team, as of now, is creating a digital version of the building that the makers can blow up for the movie. This is not the first time that a major Hollywood production has filmed an explosion scene in a heritage site. As rumors of this scene are floating across the internet, some believe that this moment might feature Hulk, who is rumored to be involved in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

What is Brand New Day about?

As of now, we don't know anything about the movie as it hasn't begun filming. But we know that Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle/The Punisher is indeed involved in Brand New Day. A report confirming Bernthal's casting was published by The Hollywood Reporter on June 20, 2025. Other than Castle's involvement, we know that the film will be helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

Cretton's involvement with the movie was officially confirmed by Sony during the 2025 CinemaCon presentation in March. At the CinemaCon stage, the director said this regarding the story:

“I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world. We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”

Then, Cretton continued:

“I really wish I could introduce you to our entire team who are working their bloods off for this. They are incredible, and you will see their amazing work when ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ hits your theaters.”

What do you feel about the latest update? Spider-Man: Brand New Day will swing into the cinema halls on July 31, 2026.
