Tom Cruise seems to be singing praises for Keanu Reeves. On May 19, 2025, ExtraTV’s Mona Kosar Abdi met Cruise during the Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning promo tour in New York.

As the conversation continued, the actor revealed that he was a huge fan of Michael B. Jordan. He said Sinners was a great film and urged everyone to watch it, while adding that he would like to work on a movie with Jordan.

As they discussed Ana de Armas’ work, Tom Cruise praised Keanu Reeves, saying:

“I love Keanu's work like you know. Look, I grew up with Keanu, you know, you see Speed, you see the Matrix and also what they did with the Wick franchise and looking at that you're saying like look at how they captured the tone from that and how you know that ability and charisma.”

He also said:

“And Keanu, what he does with Wick and what they've done with that franchise, very impressive. I know what it takes to do that stuff so I always call him I am like, ‘Hats off man, hats off.’ I you know and I dig those movies. I really love it.”

Tom Cruise said he was excited about the upcoming Formula 1 movie, directed by the same person who made Top Gun: Maverick, featuring Brad Pitt. He believed it would be a great film for the summer and shared that there were many exciting projects on the way for audiences.

Tom Cruise said Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is the “culmination” of the franchise

As per reports and online claims, this is the final Mission: Impossible film of Tom Cruise. However, Abdi wanted to know if it truly was. The actor replied:

“Well, this is a culmination of the entire franchise. It's very first film that I ever officially produced and it is called, I want audience to see it, but it is called The Final Reckoning so but audiences have to see it.”

When Abdi asked where he got his adrenaline rush, Tom Cruise said it came from making movies. He explained that creating films had always been a dream of his and that he felt lucky to be doing what he loved.

He had just finished working on another project and had several more planned. For him, filmmaking wasn’t just a job but a big part of who he was. Reflecting on his stunts, Abdi asked Cruise if he ever thought he went too far with them. Tom Cruise replied:

“Always. I always go too far but I don’t mind it, you know. I mean I always go too far. We are always like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ like this you know. Just take your hand and stick it out of the car going 140 mph or 145 mph. It does a lot of force and we spent a lot of time you know developing the sequence.”

He went on:

“I look I fly aerobatic airplanes. I fly jets. I fly helicopters, you know. This took all of our ability and all of our skill to be able to find the camera angles to tell this story physically what I had to do to prepare for this thing was quite extreme.”

Tom Cruise mentioned that the movie is much more than its trailer. He said that viewers might think it couldn't get more intense, but it does. He made it clear that they weren't revealing everything in the ads, and the full experience could only be seen in theaters.
