Trace Cyrus, the adopted son of Billy Ray Cyrus, uploaded an Instagram story remembering his grandmother, Loretta Finley, on June 17. The first story featured a family photo of him and his siblings with his grandmother and mother, Tish Cyrus, titled "Mammie's Prayer."
In another Instagram story, Trace opened up on his emotions by saying:
"Once again I'm laying on my bed like a baby crying, thinking about my Grandmother & feeling her presence.. When I go silent for weeks and even months at a time usually nobody checks in on me. When I'm my true authentic self people become worried.."
Trace also shared that he’s now choosing to show his true self to the world and is no longer scared of feeling 'ashamed or embarrassed.' He also told his fans and loved ones not to worry about him, because he finally feels 'free.'
He additionally added,
"And to my loved ones do not take my absence as a lack of love. It’s the opposite. I am the man of the Cyrus family now and I’m done f*cking around."
Trace Cyrus was born to Tish Cyrus and her former partner, Baxter Neal Helson. He was later adopted by Billy Ray Cyrus after Billy married Tish. The thirty-six-year-old lost his grandmother, Loretta Finley, in 2020.
Trace Cyrus calls out Billy Ray Cyrus in a recent Instagram post
Trace has been vocal about his feelings on Instagram. In a recent Instagram post, Trace called out Billy Ray Cyrus by saying,
"This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic. He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn’t come to LA for Mammie’s funeral while he was still married to my mom."
He ended his caption with the statement,
"The best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I die like you. Christ is King. Get right with God. You need it."
However, it is not confirmed which fashion show Trace was referring to in his post.
Trace and Billy Ray Cyrus have had a complicated relationship over the years. Back in January, Trace had shared another post saying he could barely recognize his father anymore. He also mentioned that if Billy ever needed help, he would still be there for him.
In a story posted on June 17, Trace Cyrus opened up about having a tough week, saying he had cried a lot over the past few days. Despite the emotional time, he reassured his fans that he’s doing much better now. Trace said that the Lord is helping him cleanse everything from his life, and because of that, he feels happy and 'amazing.'
