On Saturday, August 17, Dylan's SUV first crashed into one utility pole, kept going, and then hit and damaged a second pole. Following this, the police arrived at the scene at 5 pm. As per reports, the crash caused a power outage for eight nearby homes, but their electricity was restored later that Sunday evening.
As per reports by The NY Post, the actor was driving his SUV north when it swerved into the wrong lane. Other than Walsh, there were four other people in the car, among whom two were taken to a medical centre.
The actor's representative confirmed the accident to TMZ in a statement, in which they said:
''Over the weekend, Dylan Walsh and his family were involved in a car accident in Rumson. Thankfully, everyone is safe and has since returned home. The family is deeply grateful for the swift response of the Rumson Police, Fire Department, and EMS, as well as the staff at Riverview Medical Center for their care.''
They continued:
''They would also like to extend a special thank-you to the management and staff of The River Point Inn for their support in the immediate aftermath.''
Walsh began his acting career with a television movie called Soldier Boys. He then worked in several films, including Betsy's Wedding, Nobody's Fool, and Congo. He guest-starred in several TV series, including Brooklyn South, The Twilight Zone, and Everwood.
Some of Dylan's most recognized roles in films and TV series include the role of Lieutenant Al Burns in all four seasons of CBS's crime-drama series Unforgettable, and the role of Sam Lane, on the action-superhero series Superman & Lois.
