Actor Manuel Masalva, famous for playing the role of Ramón Arellano Félix in the series Narcos: Mexico and Luis Enrique Guzmán in La Guzmán, is now conscious after three months in a coma.

Manuel Masalva was hospitalized in Dubai in March 2025 after developing a serious bacterial infection. According to reports, the infection was harmful and had spread to his lungs, which led doctors to place him in a medically induced coma. The actor’s family also started a GoFundMe to help cover his treatment.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, his manager, Jaime Jaramillo Espinosa, explained the situation by saying:

"[After] about two days in Dubai, Masalva began to feel internal discomfort and pain, which increased by the day."

He further added:

"On Monday, the doctors were able to identify the type of bacteria and administer the appropriate antibiotic he needs. On the other hand, his respirator was lowered to 80%, which means that his lungs are reacting."

The update brought relief and hope to fans who had been praying for his speedy recovery.
