UK reality TV star Lauren Goodger has opened up about losing her child in 2022. The 38-year-old The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) star spoke with costar Saffron Lempriere on the September 7, 2025, episode. The reality stars traded stories about losing the special people in their lives.
Saffron spoke about losing her grandmother, and Lauren recounted the aftermath of learning that her newborn baby, Lorena, had passed away moments after her birth.
Lauren spoke to Saffron: "You've got your own trauma going on and grief, which I can relate to."
Saffron replied: "It's never left my mind. It's so raw. It's the first year."
Lauren admitted that the loss had changed her life: "No, you don't realise it, you won't consciously be thinking of it, but it changes you."
Saffron admitted her bond with her nan was very special - describing her as a "second mum".
Lauren revealed that she often wondered what her baby would have looked like and what kind of life they would have had together. The TV star added that she only had an imagination of her time together with Lorena and didn’t even know the color of her eyes.
Saffron asked Lauren for details about what transpired at the hospital after the tragic news.
Lauren replied:
“Don't want to go into it all because it's quite a lot, but I stayed the night at the hospital, and we went to a hotel room, and we had Lorena."
By the next morning, Lauren said she still hadn’t begun to process what had happened.
“Weird, numb, horrible,” Lauren Goodger recalls the pain of losing her baby in an emotional conversation with TOWIE costar
Lauren Goodger then opened up further about the grief that followed her loss of her child. She explained that she couldn’t fully process her emotions at the time:
“At the time, I was like 'What?' And then I passed her over and then you come home, with no baby.”
She added:
"Weird, numb, horrible. But you get it, you understand that... that grief. It's still a trauma."
Lauren Goodger shared Lorena with her on-and-off boyfriend Charles Drury. The couple has a three-year-old daughter together.
