The action film, Rambo III, star Alon Aboutboul, died tragically on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, after he collapsed at the Dor HaBonim Beach Nature Reserve, south of Haifa, Israel, according to USA Today.
Known for his work in some of the most iconic films, including Body of Lies, Lansky, and London Has Fallen, Alon made his silver screen debut in 1980, when he worked in the Hebrew-language film titled Morning Star.
Aboutboul was 60 at the time of his death.

Alon was born in Israel to a Sephardic Jewish family from Egypt and Algeria. One of his first big roles was in the 1986 Israeli movie Shtei Etzbaot Mi'Tzidon (Two Fingers from Sidon). And for this film, he was awarded the Best Actor award at the Jerusalem Film Festival.
Aboutboul worked in a number of films and television series. Some of the TV shows he worked on included the 2011 science fiction series Fringe, the 2017 crime drama Snowfall, and the 2024 series FBI: International.
Throughout the 1990s and the 2000s, he worked in several Israeli films, including Melanoma My Love, Wild Dogs, Planet Blue, and Nina's Tragedies. Alon was also known to be a theatre actor, and some of his works include Blood Brothers, Closer, and Hamlet.
The news of Alon's passing was shared by his representative, Mark Teitelbaum. In the statement, he said:
''Alon was a brilliant actor, a true artist, an Israeli icon, but more importantly, he was a loving father of his four children, and a dear friend of mine and many others.''
He continued:
''He possessed both a moral and spiritual clarity that is rare to find. As you might imagine, his family is in shock. He will be deeply missed. May his memory be a blessing.''
Aboutboul was in a relationship with Israeli director Shir Bilya, and the two share four children. As the news of his passing was out, his fans, followers, and colleagues began pouring their heartfelt tributes on social media.
