Antonio Brown made his NFL debut 15 years ago, back in 2010. Brown, whose full name is Antonio Tavaris Brown Sr., was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the sixth round with the 195th overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft. After he was chosen by the Steelers, Brown, also nicknamed "AB," chose the number 82 for his jersey.

He explained the reason behind his jersey number choice:

"Eight times four is 32. Thirty-two teams looked past me, even the Steelers. So every time I go out there it's a little added motivation."

Now, in 2025, Brown has been arrested in Dubai and is being extradited to the US on charges of attempted murder. Antonio Brown was connected to a shooting that happened earlier this year in Miami.


Antonio Brown's career highlights

Throughout his NFL career, Brown won the Super Bowl once in 2020. At the time, he was playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brown has played for four NFL teams during his 13 years as an NFL professional player. He began with the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing with them for eight years. He later played with the Oakland Raiders in 2019. In the same year, he also played for the New England Patriots. Lastly, he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2020 to 2021.

Antonio Brown has retired twice from professional football. He announced his first retirement two years ago in March, but unretired the following month with plans to play for the Albany Empire, but it never happened.

Once again, he announced his second retirement in April 2024. Towards the end of the year, Brown announced his unretirement again, expressing his desire to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers till the end of the 2024 season.

In addition to his NFL career, Antonio Brown is also the co-owner of the professional indoor football team, Albany Empire.

Brown won several awards throughout his career. Some of these include four First-team All-Pro Awards from 2014 to 2017. He was named the NFL receptions leader and the NFL receiving yards leader twice. He was also named the NFL receiving touchdowns leader in 2018.


Antonio Brown went from being a late draft pick to a Super Bowl winner with an impressive NFL career. He played for several top teams and earned many awards along the way. But now, his recent arrest has marred his once-great legacy.
