Graham Greene talks about his previous jobs
In an interview with Reader’s Digest, when asked what he might have pursued if he hadn’t become an actor, Greene reflected on his past roles and said:
"I’d probably be a welder. I started out as a carpenter, a welder, a draftsman, a carpet layer, a roadie and an audio tech. I stumbled into acting and I thought, These people keep me in the shade, give me food and water, take me over to where I say what I’m supposed to say, then they take me back. Wow—this is the life of a dog!"
In the podcast Q with Tom Power, Greene said he was just lucky with acting, as many other actors had to struggle for the recognition he received. In another interview with Cowboys & Indians Magazine, while advising young actors, Greene hinted at patience and persistence, joking that they should ‘Learn how to wait tables, and get your cabdriver license’ before expecting big roles.
