Where can you stream the Home Alone Trilogy this summer?

The classic 90's Christmas film trilogy, Home Alone, is soon going to be available to stream on Hulu, from 1st July 2025.

The name itself invokes childhood nostalgia. And the one thing that primarily comes to mind is the stellar actor Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, who became a household name as a young actor. So now, we can revisit our early memories by streaming it on Hulu this summer.

The franchise has a total of six films, out of which, the first three installments will be available on the streaming platform. The first two were directed by Chris Columbus, and the third movie was helmed by Raja Gosnell- marking Gosnell's first film in his career.

The films follow the plot of a child whose presence of mind helps him to safeguard his house from burglary. It is a wholesome and hilarious ride to watch the boy outsmart the burglars in the most erratic ways!

Everything about the streaming details of the Home Alone trilogy

One of our top comfort Christmas movies of all time, the Home Alone trilogy, will soon be available to stream on Hulu from 1st July 2025.

Before, all the movies of this franchise had been on Disney+. However, the streaming platform is now extending the rights of the first three movies to Hulu. Now on this streaming platform, we can watch the OG film of 1990, along with its sequel and threequel- Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) and Home Alone 3 (1997).

Here is a brief guide to the subscription plans of Hulu:

  • If you wish to opt for a bundle including Disney+ and Hulu, it charges $10.99 monthly. It is not free from advertisements.
  • If you wish to opt for a bigger bundle that includes Disney+ and Hulu along with Max, then it charges up to $16.99 monthly.

We witness Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister in the first two installments of the film. In the third movie, a new character in the place of Kevin arrives, named Alex. It is played by Alex D. Linz. All of these three films are penned by John Hughes.

In the first and second films, along with Culkin, the cast includes Joe Pesci, Catherine O'Hara, Daniel Stern, John Heard and Hillary Wolf, as they return to their roles in the second feature. Actor Devin Ratray, who portrays the role of Buzz, has appeared in the first, second and the sixth films of the franchise.

However, in the third film, a fresh new cast appears along with a new director, Raja Gosnell. Along with Alex D. Linz, the cast includes Olek Krupa, Rya Kihlstedt, Lenny Von Dohlen and many others.

Along with the first three films of the franchise, the rest of the other three films are:

  • Home Alone 4 (Year: 2002, director: Rod Daniel)
  • Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (Year: 2012, director: Peter Hewitt)
  • Home Sweet Home Alone (Year: 2021, director: Dan Mazer)

The character of Kevin is again resurrected in the fourth film, but it is not essayed by Culkin. The role is played by Mike Weinberg. In the fifth film, the lead protagonists are a brother-sister duo named Finn and Alexis Baxter, essayed by Christian Martyn and Jodelle Ferland. Then in 2021, the most recent installment in the franchise, the main kid is Max Mercer, portrayed by Archie Yates.

Interestingly, U.S. President Donald Trump has a brief appearance in the second installment of the film with Macaulay Culkin. He essays the role of the owner of the Plaza Hotel, and has a tiny interaction with Kevin as he is looking for guidance regarding the directions in the area.
