This is the first time the Fear Street franchise has explored Ontario, as for the earlier films, Georgia was chosen as the filming location. Ontario has been an interesting choice for its filming, as the place constitutes a mix of several dilapidated architectures along with its modern cityscape. Within the studios of Toronto, elaborate set design showcasing the interior spaces of the school, such as the classrooms, has been meticulously created, which blends the horror quality required for the film. The design also incorporated the time the story is set in, which is the 1980s.

Recognised as "Hollywood North", since Toronto is quite a sought-after location for shooting purposes. It is a highly resourceful area since they provide high quality devices and amenities which helps in enhancing the quality of the film production. Along with that, they also provide tax benefits, which makes this place a favourable one for shoots.

Within Hamilton, an inoperative school campus situated at 1284 Main Street East, named Delta Secondary School, has been filmed. The reason for choosing this particular school campus is due to its Gothic style of architecture, which is perfect for the horror elements of the film.

The dilapidated structure of the school has heightened the unsettling quality of the world of Fear Street: Prom Queen. In fact, in order to add a touch of more realism, the team has even put up a signboard of the fictional school Shadyside High in the place of the Main Street East board.
