The freshly released Netflix film, Ruth & Boaz, has been filmed across Georgia and Tennessee in the United States.
Produced by DeVon Franklin and Tyler Perry, this film is helmed by Alanna Brown. The film narrates the biblical tale of Ruth and Boaz, which is set in a contemporary context. It follows the plot of how Ruth, a gifted singer, finds love as she traverses through her musical career and her relationships forged with care. The film stars Serayah and Tyler Lepley as the iconic couple.
Its synopsis, as per IMDb, goes as follows:
Modern-day retelling of one of the most iconic love stories in the Bible. A young woman escapes the Atlanta music scene to care for an elderly widowed woman and in the process finds the love of her life and gains the mother she never had.

Major filming locations of Ruth & Boaz, explored
The filming of Ruth & Boaz took place last year in 2024. In a jam-packed schedule of two months, it marked its beginning in the initial week of October and concluded by the ending week of November, as per The Cinema Holic.
Tennessee and Georgia were the primary filming locations of the feature. Within Georgia, places including Locust Grove, Dahlonega and Atlanta were used. In Tennessee, cities such as Nashville and Memphis were used to film as well. The locations of the film were diverse in nature, having both urban and rural elements.
1) Tennessee

The story of the film is set in the state of Tennessee, hence the makers chose an authentic location to keep things organic.
At the heart of the state, areas such as Nashville and Memphis were explored. Breathtaking shots of the Mississippi River and the scenic beauty of the state were taken in to soak in the feeling of the state, as it is relevant to the storyline.
The location is also quite a profitable choice for film productions, due to favorable financial policies as well as offering a variety of visuals and provisions.
2) Dahlonega, Georgia

This location in Georgia served as the foundation for the filming of Ruth & Boaz. This was the location that was very crucial to the story, since this is depicted as the spot to showcase Boaz's winery business.
In Dahlonega, the precise location for the winery is The Montaluce Winery & Restaurant. It is located at 501 Hightower Church Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.
3) Locust Grove, Georgia
This city, in Henry County of Georgia, also served as a major filming location. This area was used to showcase Ruth's background and culture, as it has a blend of old architecture as well as lush flora.
As per The Cinema Holic, reportedly the area of Warren Holder Equipment at 122 Cleveland Street was also used for its filming. Places including Downtown southward, Indian Creek Road, Smith Street and Highway 42/Peeksville Road were sealed off for its shooting.
4) Atlanta, Georgia

Producer Tyler Perry's own film production studio, which is located in Atlanta, operated for the filming of Ruth & Boaz. It is located at 175 Lakewood Way SW, Atlanta, GA 30315, United States.
This capital city has served as a favorable filming location for several films. In fact, many films by Perry have been filmed before in this studio as well, such as Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005), Madea's Family Reunion (2006), Meet the Browns (2008), Acrimony (2018), Mea Culpa (2024) and Straw (2025), to name a few.
