Hannah Einbinder is an American actress and stand-up comedian who just won her first Emmy Award. However, while she was on stage making her acceptance speech, she said something that had to be bleeped out. Before delivering her speech, she accepted the Emmy for 'Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series' for her role as Ava Daniels in Hack.

The win came as a surprise for Einbinder, who got on stage and began stumbling over her words in excitement.

She said:

"Wow... sorry, this is just... I'm thinking out loud here. I was just really committed to the personal narrative that I had that was actually like 'cooler to continue to lose,' I was pretty committed to that, had to be, right? But this is cool too. This is also punk rock."

Hannah Einbinder went ahead to thank the creators of the show for:

"changing my life in every conceivable way, but not just by giving me a great gig, but by being my friends and being my family, oh, and here I go," the actress' voice starts getting shaky.

She pushed on:

"And I wanna thank Jean Smart, who is like the sun and I just get to stand in her warmth, and I also want to thank the cast and crew of Hacks, and finally... oh, I'll pay the difference," she joked.

Einbinder concluded by saying:

"Finally, I just wanna say go birds, f**k ICE, and free Palestine. Thank you."

The part of her speech mentioning ICE was bleeped during the broadcast.

Hannah Einbinder reveals why she mentioned Palestine during her acceptance speech

After winning the 'Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series' Award, Einbinder talked to the reporters in the press room.

She said:

"I thought it was important to talk about Palestine because it's an issue that's very dear to my heart... I have friends in Gaza who are working as frontline workers, as doctors right now in the north of Gaza to provide care for pregnant women and for school children, to create schools in the refugee camps, and it’s an issue that’s really close to my heart."

She continued:

"For many reasons, I feel like it is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel… Boycotting is an effective tool to create pressure on the powers that be to meet the moment. So the Film Workers for Palestine boycott does not boycott individuals, it only boycotts institutions that are directly complicit in the genocide."
