David Geffen, the 82-year-old entertainment billionaire, has filed for divorce from his husband, David Armstrong, also known as Donovan Michaels, according to TMZ.

Geffen and his 32-year-old husband reportedly tied the knot in April 2023 in a private ceremony in Beverly Hills. The pair first met in 2020 when Armstrong served as his fitness trainer.

Disso Queen Laura Wesser serves as the divorce attorney for David Geffen, TMZ reported. He has cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. The report added that Armstrong will get spousal support for a year, as under California law, the receiving spouse gets spousal support for half the year of marriage.

According to a report in the New York Post, Armstrong is a former Go-Go Dancer from Michigan. Although his original name is David Armstrong, he has changed his name several times. In 2023, details about his past came to light, which highlighted that he earned from odd jobs in New York and Miami. This included online cam shows, nude pool parties at gay clubs and ambiguous s*xual preferences.

David Geffen’s husband, David Armstrong, is a 32-year-old former go-go dancer who has also performed under the name Donovan Michaels.

According to a report in News.com.au, Armstrong was born in Imlay City in Michigan. He comes from a family of 13 children and grew up amid “very humble beginnings.”

He later moved to Florida in 2014, where he changed his name to Brandon Foster. There, he began his career as a dancer and promoter at Miami gay clubs. This included “clothing optional” pool parties “along with plenty of other hot s*xy guys.”

The New York Post report stated that he shared an Instagram post from September 2014, where he wrote he was

“doing a little camming tonight” adding he would “put on a good show” for anyone who would pay to access his footage.

He has shared several photos on his social media account where he flaunted his chiselled physique.

His former girlfriend told in an interview to the New York Post, that she only knew that he used to date women. She said:

“I wouldn’t be surprised. I mean, he’s very attractive. He would tell me people just assumed that he was into guys from what he posts on Instagram. I know that he was getting comments like that from gay men, that he was really attractive and in really good shape.”

The report in the New York Post indicated that he left Florida in 2016 or 2017 to pursue a career in modelling in New York City. He then started going by the name Donovan Michaels.

Speaking on his relationship with David Geffen, a friend of Michael's said he wouldn't be surprised if he had married Geffen. According to the New York Post, His friend noted that he was:

"always looking for his next adventure and was really determined to improve his life."

According to Daily Mail, a modelling consultant recalled working with him in 2016 and called him a “great model.” Michael always remained secretive about his past life.

David Geffen is known for co-founding several major record labels, including Asylum Records, Geffen Records, and DreamWorks Records, according to Forbes.

He has an estimated net worth of $8.7 billion. He owns one of New York's most expensive apartments, a house in the Hamptons and has owned two estates in Beverly Hills. He retired over 15 years ago and now derives his income primarily from investments in stocks and equities.
