Who are the five people who pleaded guilty in Matthew Perry’s overdose death case? All you need to know

There have been new developments in the Friends star, Matthew Perry's overdose death case. On Monday, August 18, 2025, federal prosecutors announced that Jasveen Sangha, also known as ‘Ketamine Queen,' has agreed to plead guilty, according to the BBC.

She is the fifth and final defendant charged in connection with Perry’s overdose death to reach a plea agreement. The other four who have pleaded guilty in the case include Kenneth Iwamasa, who was Perry's personal assistant, two doctors, Dr. Mark Chavez, and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, and Erik Fleming, Perry's friend and a middleman who obtained the drug for him.

Matthew died on October 28, 2023, at his home in Los Angeles.

Recently, Jasveen Sangha agreed to plead guilty in the case. In her plea agreement, she admitted that she sold a lethal dose of Ketamine to Perry before his death. Sangha was well-known for supplying drugs among the celebrity circle. Her charges include three counts of distribution of ketamine. As per reports, her sentencing will be held in the upcoming months, and she could face up to 45 years in prison.

As per People, Erik Fleming, an acquaintance of Perry, is also a defendant in the case. He was connected with Sangha and played the role of a middleman in supplying drugs to Matthew. According to the prosecutors, Erik delivered 50 vials of ketamine from Sangha to Perry, of which 25 were sold for a total of $6,000 to the actor four days before his death. He faces one count of distribution of ketamine charge, and his sentencing will take place in November.

The other two involved in the overdose case are two doctors, namely Dr. Mark Chavez and Dr. Salvador Plasencia. Dr. Salvador was someone Perry was connected to via another patient. He used to take legal doses of ketamine from the doctor to treat depression, but wanted more. In the plea agreement, Dr. Salvador admitted to selling 20 vials of the drug to Matthew just weeks before his death. He has been charged with four counts of distribution of ketamine, and he also intends to surrender his practicing license. He will be sentenced in December.

Dr. Mark Chavez admitted to supplying ketamine to Dr. Salvador Plasencia, through fraudulent means and faces one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and will be sentenced in September.

The last defendant in the case is Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry's personal assistant, who admitted to having injected Matthew six to eight times a day in the days leading up to his death. He was also connected with Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who taught him how to give the injections. Kenneth faces one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine, leading to death, as per CNN.

The sentencing for all five defendants will take place in the coming months.
