American actor, writer, producer, comedian, and improvisor Jeff Hiller is now trending after taking home the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2025 Emmy Awards on Sunday, which was held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Hiller, who is married to visual artist and teacher Neil Goldberg, is best known for his role as Joel on the HBO dramedy series Somebody Somewhere, for which he won the Emmy.

“I feel like I’m gonna cry because the past 25 years I’ve been like, ‘World, I wanna be an actor,’ and the world’s like, ‘Maybe computers,’” the 49-year-old began his acceptance speech.

He continued by thanking HBO for “putting a show about sweaty, middle-aged people on the same network as the s*xy teens of Euphoria” and the writers of the show for creating something “about connecting and love in this time when compassion is seen as a weakness.”

Jeff Hiller gave a shoutout to his husband, Neil Goldberg, and family for “never laughing at me” and to his co-star Bridget Everett (who plays protagonist Sam Miller on Somebody Somewhere and is the show’s writer and executive producer) for changing his life and making him believe in himself.

Hiller beat the likes of Harrison Ford (for Shrinking), Ike Barinholtz (for The Studio), Colman Domingo (for The Four Seasons), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (for The Bear), Michael Urie (for Shrinking), and Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live) for the award.
