Jessie J has opened up about her breast cancer treatment in her latest Instagram post. Her boyfriend, Chanan Safir Colman, has been by her side in this difficult time, showing his unwavering support.
She has shared an update on her health after undergoing treatment for breast cancer. In her post shared on June 23, 2025, the singer detailed the āhonest lows and highsā of her recovery process following the operation.
The post contained a series of pictures of Jessie J, some also showing her with her boyfriend, Chanan Safir Colman, and their 2-year-old son, Sky Safir. Colman showed his support for his partner by kissing her forehead and holding her hand as she lay in the hospital bed.
Colman is a Danish-Israeli professional basketball player, born on March 10, 1984, in Gladsaxe, Denmark. People Magazine reports that he plays for Hapoel Haifa in the Israel Basketball Premier League. He was a college athlete and played basketball for Chipola College in Marianna, Florida.

All we know about Chanan Safir Colman
Chanan Safir Colman has credited his mother for being the inspiration behind his basketball journey. According to a report in Style magazine, he revealed:
āI used to play soccer but, one day, my mum said that my dad used to play basketball, so she said, letās go and try it out. I was horrible at the beginning, especially during the first five years that I played.ā
His mother is Israeli and his father is an American Jew. During an interview with Sports Rabbi, he explained that he is trilingual and is well-versed in Danish, Hebrew, and English. He told the outlet that he has spent most of his childhood and youth in Denmark.

After finishing his first year in college, he played for the Danish National Team, and then he moved to Finland, where he played for two seasons. He was reportedly a part of the Israeli team Ironi Ashkelon, Danish team Svendborg Rabbits, and Copenhagen Wolfpack, among others, per a report in Today.
In 2021, Jessie J shared an Instagram story about meeting a man weeks after her miscarriage. This man was, indeed, Chanan Safir Colman. She wrote in her now-deleted post:
āLike a beam of light. He lit up my dark days. It was a whirl wind love and a miracle that we fell pregnant naturally with not one issue during.ā
She added that she is āgratefulā to Colman for giving her āmany of the best gifts of my lifeā before calling him, ācalm to my crazy,ā āpeace to my fear,ā and ādaddy to my baby.ā The couple welcomed their baby boy, Sky, in May 2023.
Announcing her sonās arrival, the singer shared a story on her Instagram that May, and wrote:
"A week ago my whole life changed. My son entered this world and my heart grew twice the size. The feeling is indescribable. I am flying in love. He is magic. He is all my dreams come true. He is my whole (a world emoji). He and I are both doing great. I am soaking up every second and still can't believe he is real, mine and here *happy tears* For all of you that have followed my journey to this moment, thank you for all your continued love and support.ā
Chanan Safir Colman shares a close bond with his family and often shares about his siblings and nephews.
