The 2025 slasher film Fear Street: Prom Queen takes place at Shadyside High in 1988. An outsider named Lori Granger stands out against a popular crowd to be the prom queen, and hopefuls begin to perish at the hands of a masked assailant as prom night draws near. Friendships break down, tensions rise, and secrets are exposed.
When the murderers—Tiffany's parents—are found, driven by a desire for vengeance, the night comes to a chaotic conclusion. Lori starts a fresh chapter in her life after surviving a nasty altercation. The film boldly upholds the Fear Street tradition while taking a fresh approach to teen horror with its suspense, mystery, and '80s aesthetic.
The killers in Fear Street: Prom Queen are Tiffany's parents, Dan and Nancy Falconer, who are obsessed with vengeance. Tiffany is revealed to be a third killer in the last surprise. Their deaths put a stop to the chaos, but a disturbing symbol in Nancy's blood hints that Shadyside's terrible curse endures.
More about the killers in Fear Street: Prom Queen
The most recent entry in Netflix's horror series, Fear Street: Prom Queen, tells a terrifying slasher tale set during a high school prom in 1988. The main character of the movie is Lori Granger, a resolute woman attempting to break free from the sinister legacy associated with her family's past. Candidates start to fade away as the prom queen battle intensifies, and what begins as a teenage rivalry swiftly devolves into lethal terrain.
The first important revelation occurs at the prom itself. After a string of heinous killings, Lori is proclaimed prom queen, only for the masked murderer to attack seconds later.
During the scuffle, Lori identified the killer as Dan Falconer, and Dan's motivation is very personal: he wanted to ensure his daughter's win and protect his family's reputation, no matter the cost.
But Dan's imprisonment isn't the end of the misery. Lori is brought to the Falconer residence to recuperate following the prom. There, she encounters a startling second twist: Tiffany's mother, Nancy Falconer, who is also a murderer. Out of envy and hatred, Nancy admits to killing Lori's father years ago. This information not only clears Lori's mother's name but also gives the Falconers' motivations a more nuanced emotional component.
The revelation that Tiffany is the third murderer is the last twist. She describes the killings and attempts on Lori's life, calm and unconcerned. After an intense struggle that finishes with the Falconers dead, Lori finally overcomes Nancy and Tiffany in a vicious duel.
An evil that is more profound is hinted at in a post-credits scene of Fear Street: Prom Queen. Nancy's blood produces a mysterious symbol as she passes away that is connected to the demonic curse covered in earlier Fear Street movies. The message is clear: Shadyside's misery is far from over, even though this chapter comes to an end.
